I have an angel which about a week ago developed what appeared to be an injury on its gill plate. I have a couple of cleaner shrimp who have been attracted to the injury and keep it very clean. It is just red and raw looking, no whites spots or fungus look. It is getting larger and I am worried that the fish may not pull through. It does not appear to be in distress at this time, however I know this can't go on. I am feeding mostly mysis shrimp soaked in garlic. Water quality is good with nitrates an little high. Going to a QT tank will be next to impossible due to so much rock in my thank I could never catch this fish without taking the whole thing down. Any suggestions?

I think the shrimp are simply irritating the injusry, the fish or the shrimp should be removed, preferrably the fish, to a qt where you can bserve the injury and treat for infection if necessary. Look into fish traps to catch the fish.
