Hi

I noticed some of my neons had white spot, so treated with esha exit and it's cleared it up
However, this bristlenose has white patches on her and also developed a dark patch on her side as well as black dots in her mouth (noticed when she was on front of glass and don't remember seeing them before)
Any ideas what this is?

Just to note, I had another bristlenose in this tank and a couple weeks ago she got a white fungus on her head. I put her in a hospital tank and treated with methylene baths and ehsa 2000 and exit in tank. The fungus went away but she had white splotches on her face still and sadly died a few days later. Not sure if this is related

You have to be careful with medications and catfish as some do not handle meds very well. In this case, I see deterioration which is usually a sign of poor water quality or dietary issues. I'll add that ICK is typically a symptom of an issue rather than the main problem. Fish get Ick when they are stressed. If it's a new fish, the stress could have come from where you got the fish or how they were acclimated. If they are older fish that have been in the tank for a while, that's usually a water quality issue. You should run a full panel of tests ( pH, ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate) to see if that is the issue. (y)

I tested the water and all was normal. Whenever i spot something off, always test the water first as we have 0 KH from the tap so i manually buffer it. I do weekly water changes (was originally doing 80% was that was what was recommended since i have 0 KH, but felt this brought it owns problems, and i was at times getting ammonia spikes. I've reduced my water changes to 50% weekly and feel the tank has been more settled and no parameter wobbles)
had this fish for over a year, but was kept in a different tank until around a month ago when i moved it into the big tank (had no issues with this fish before) I did recently add dragon stone, but was advised this wont affect my water parameters like other rocks do in soft water. Someone has suggested it might have scratched itself on the rock, but i just dont think thats the case as the marks are in different areas rather than one point. Just back from my local fish shop and they have recommended Esha 2000 which i have used a lot in the past. So going to quarantine her today and treat and hopefully that helps.
