Anyone has experiences with gonioporas

A friend of mine got himself a goniopora, but he is worried bad the bad reputation of only lasting a few months on captivity.

does any of you keeps gonioporas succesfully ?

I made the mistake of buying a gonipora also. Mine is now about 10 months old and has receeded about 35%.

i bought one about a month ago and so far it is doing fine. i read about it in Eric Bornemans book and he says the same thing that they do not do very well in captivity. however the one that i got was a red goniapora. i was told that this particular specimen has a better survival rate in captivity.

I kept mine about 3 months, then it went from buff to dead in 48 hours.

Mines not doing so well. Its not all dead yet but I don't give it much time. I have had it for about 5 months.

Red goniapora is known to have a much better survival rate than any other goniapora. I know several people with heathy reds.
