Well my day today seemed to be a smooth day.. that is until I came hopme to my three tanks. Lets begin with my beautiful 10 gallon. I left my roomate in charge of my tank, he owed me for years of favors, while I went home for vacation, he had to stay and work in an intern job. I come home to find my plants in the 10 gallon turned into a jungle. All plants were branching like crazy and in desperate need of pruning. Of course this was sweet, but.... everything else about it was a nightmare. I showed hom how to feed and how much, but he put a TON of food in there.. there are only three tiny fishes in there. Well none the less the bacteria went absolutely pro-riddlin and covered the walls and now I have some unknows in my 3 valisneria. My filter must of been in hiding because danged if I were to find it in the mess, plus my CO2 bubbler was clog in the one opening it had by a nice think white algae. Well it was resce time and so I did everything... pulled everything out... mega cleaned everything that was in the tank, prune the hell out of the plants, vacummed, and scrubbed everything. Now the water looks a bit cloudy but I am happy to say none of the fishes died in there, and the plants look spectacular. Even the Otto lived, w00tage.

Well after the 10 gallon mess, I noticed the Jack dempseys in both tanks.. the 38 gallon, and the 20 long had uprooted every single plant, even my roomate could not keep up with the re-planting, and heck I just told him to leave 'em be since the it was fruitless. I was already in a bad mood (my apartment was a mess, left by my roomate, my pretty DIY hood with dual 65 watt power compacts not fitting on the 38 gallon by a fourth of an inch, and other bad things happening today (will explain later)), so I just thought screw everything! I am going to sell both Jack Dempseys, even as large as they are and cool, I am more into plants so bah with them! I decided then and there to just go for the combo plant tank... the glosso/sword/ludwigia (something like that) tank with Neons at the moment, unless I change my mind about the fish. I felt relieved because this meant I would not need the 20 long to keep my own feeder fish/shrimp. I still can't believe my hood did not fit argh argh argh!

This is my short version of venting. Today other dumb things happen that made me look up at the sky and ask "why me?" One example of all the dumbest things that could happen was at the gas station leaving to come back here, Gainesville. I go to open the gas cap in my 2000 jeep and all it did was just keep on turning. One other guy tried to open it and he was even confused. After 30 minutes (literally) a gas attendant finally managed to get the sucker to open, and I sat there 15 more minutes pumping gas. Anyway thats my day, glad some things are back to normal, but I have a hunch that my DIY canister filter won't work either, w00t.

id be killing me a roommate. youre lucky none of your fish died.

Hahaha I love your quote PuffLuv! I was just in my LFS, yes the evil one in gainesville called Aquatropics, long story, but anyway The second I walk in there I almost got run overed by a freakin' school (no pun intended) of kids all screaming for the "Nemo Fish". The sick part is that I bet the sales people are trying o sell it to them... man those kids are going to be JUST like that metal mouth girl in the movie! Scary!

god, I saw some girl buying salt, a 10g tank kit a nitrite test kit and a clown fish what she (and her idiotic father) called a clown "thing". I layed into the salesperson after they left because in the end the incident would just cost the store more money by replacing the clownfish after it died during the cycling period. Some people are just way to ignorant for the good of anything. What's worse is that this was at Big Al's.
