Hello everyone. I am new to the forum. So far it seems very informative. I am looking to upgrade to a better skimmer. One of my local shops is pushing the Euro Reef line of skimmers. My tank is fish only (for now). Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated!

The one that fits your situation and works for you is the best choice.

..oh, and fits your budget. :)

Don't spend more than $200 when you could get a used kickass one for $50.

Euro-reef -- from the looks of them -- look effective enough. Lots of tweakability. Might be a hassle but looks like it'll do the job right. I'm still waiting for someone to design one with a cup that has a banana bolt on top to keep the skimmate and airpressure from popping the lid off the collection cup... open skimmate cup = stinky house.

One suggestion and I'm sure everyone can agree with me on this -- don't buy the regular Red Sea Prism skimmer. All issues with all skimmers shine crappiest with this skimmer.

From what I read the past months, Euro Reef and ASM are the tops.

Forget the lfs - go ebay, or local rag and buy used.
