Hey guys,

I was wondering if you could put 1 male and a couple females together in a 50 gallon tank or if they will still kill eachother 8O ? My 50 is not ready now, but for now I have 2 females in 1 tank and 1 male in another, would like to combine them, but it's prolly not an option? Thanks!

From my experience, I had a male and female in a 29 gal overnight and the male barely made it out in the morning. Needless to say, he lived in a bachelor's pad and she got the house!!

Yeah, that's what I thought. Maybe I'll just add the females and switch em around every other month or something so they both get to have enough room to swim and everything. I had a feeling it wouldn't work. lol thanks!

My betta shacks up peacefully with two cory cat neighbors currently. I thought of getting a female betta, but it's not worth losing one or the other. :D

yeah, I have 2 female bettas in 1 tank and my male in another. When I get the 50 going I think the females are going in there and the male is going to remain in the 10 gallon because at the moment I've been a bit of fin-nipping w/ the females, and in the 50 that should give em more room to spread around. All my bettas are in w/ other fish as well, and they're fine w/ them.

i guess i'm lucky. i couldn't resist trying it...and it's worked out just fine. i have a male and female betta in my 55 gal. community tank, and they are so cute together. they take turns following each other around, and he is constantly flaring to impress her. i have seen no aggression, but no bubble nests so far either. my tank has quite a bit of agitation on the surface, so maybe that makes it hard for him to find a place to build. but they really seem to love each other.

Yeah, I might try putting em intogether and standing by w/ a net in case it is a problem... and being prepared to separate em. mine's a little smaller than yours. I think it's actualyl a 47 gallon, but I am not positive.
