Under what conditions can Blue Green Algae survive? About 4 weeks ago, I fished out a plant that had some growing on it. I brought it into the bathroom and rinsed it all off in the sink. This produced one of the most vile odors I have ever encountered. Well, ever since then, the bathroom still has that smell. Not as strong anymore, but potent and consistent none the less. Luckily it's a dorm bathroom, and I live at the opposite end of the hall.
