Can I leave fish in tank when the movers move it onto a cart?

I can not delay it. The maintence guy in the building made it clear they can't delay working on the floors to take out the carpet. I can see if he has any extra buckets, the problem is the fish is going to need oxygen. I only have one air stone. Could I put fish in another bucket without air stone? I think the maintence guy has an extra bucket but it will not have an air stone. There will be no filter, or air stone in the other bucket for the fish, just for the other bucket.
His bucket will probably be dirty but you can line his bucket with a clean garbage bag so the fish are in the bag and the bucket is just keeping the bag in shape. Just make sure the garbage bag does not have any scent or perfumes added to it. Both buckets should have an air stone so that they are being oxygenated. Didn't you have a gang valve for one of the tanks ( or am I thinking of another member on here? ) If you have a gang/splitter valve, use it to add a line to each bucket. If necessary, you can have an open ended air line in one bucket, just set something on top of the line so that the hose doesn't come out of the bucket and you'll have to adjust the valves so both lines are blowing bubbles.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Was not me. I only have one air stone and I was not ready for this. I thought I was, but come to find out I am not. I have hang on back filter that I can use, would that work? I will have to find someway to put a lid over it, so my cat does not get to the fish.

How many capfuls of water conditioner do I put in empty tank of a 40 gallon. I always used buckets to put the water in, now I am using a hose to put water in my tank.

Is says use 1 capful for each 200L (50 us gallons) Well I have a 40 gallon tank, so Do I use 1 capful? I use prime

I have the same issue - 55 gallon corner tank with a bowed/round front. I need to move it out of the corner to paint behind it. I think I'm going to take out 20 gallons and try to move it. Fingers crossed!

You don't have to throw the water away but I would remove a lot more than 20 gallons if you want to make the tank light enough to move. I'd look to remove more like 35-40 gallons. Consider that water weighs just under 8 lbs per gallon ( it's heavier if it's saltwater), you are leaving over 200 lbs of water in the tank if you only remove 20 gallons in a 55. Just sayin' ;)

That's true! I'm hoping he can paint around it (LOL) - we will see how that goes! ;)

I guess I can remove put in 5 gallon buckets with plastic bags in them (I don't have enough 'clean' buckets.

If he can, just turn off any air pumps and filters and cover the tank with plastic sheeting until after you air out the room. If the tank is not overstocked, the fish can go hours without the added oxygen. The painter just needs to use a small roller and a long stick. ;) ;) (y)

Also don't forget to set your water temp when filling the tank.
@ Andy come on we know you still have that water bed
Actually, I still have the frame and furniture from the set but the mattress itself was shot decades ago. ;) LOL My Ex got the water attachment in the divorce. ;)
