hey, i just wanted to see if vinyl tubing was ok to use with a diy yeast/sugar setup. i don't see any reason why it wouldn't because i'm not too worried about diffusion through the vinyl, but i wanted to make sure it was alright. TIA

Yeah, it's ok to use vinyl tubing for diy. I have no idea how much you lose through diffusion, but I don't see the big deal either.

any suggestions on tubing for a pressurized system? i saw a chart a while ago that listed the diffusion rates of the different polymers, but i can't find it now :?

You know me, I buy the "all in one" set-ups, I use whatever they send me. It says CO2-proof tubing, I take them at face value.

In other words, ask Rex.

I think the less permeable CO2 tubing is neoprene. It's more flexible and softer, usually gray or blue/green. This avoids about 50% loss by some estimations... There's nothing wrong with the standard tubing, just more loss!
