Update- There seems to be a thing brown spine? coming out of the middle of the sore. I know last year we had a dragonfly nymph in the pond that my dad killed, could this be a baby?

Not a dragonfly nymph, they will kill baby fish, but not as a parasite, just as a predator. Just able to get fry, really.

Sounds like a leech or anchor worm. not sure of treatment, but getting him out and isolating would be the first step. Definitley some sort of parasite, get the fish out before the parasite breeds.

Thanks for the info, I think it was either an anchor work or round worm. Here is a picture of what I took out of him

Oh yuck. That's truly disgusting (good pic tho!). Actually, now that I look at it closely, I think your fish had mice LOL that thing bears a strong resemblance to Mickey ;)

Heh seriously tho, I'm almost sure thats an anchor worm. All the pics I've seen have looked a little different, but it has the sorta Y shape indicative of them.
