Hi, My male pufferfish is acting strange.

His belly is bigger.
Lazyer.
Slugish.
Breathing heavyer.
Not Eating.
Not being normal self!

To me this sounds like constipation and all other tank mates are fine just this one. I rang my local store and they told me to feed hima pea (with no skin on it) so i put it in the tank and he wont eat it. He hasnt eaten for about 2 days now. What should I do and is he going to be ok ? I really Hope he is. Is he likely to die from this.

Please reply a.s.a.p

you can try putting some epsom salts in the water. I'm not sure what the dosage is, you could probably find it by searching this site.
It could be parasites too. But try to rule out the constipation first.

Epsom salts what are these I have some salts at home i'll just check there name oh no I only have"Tonic Salts" :( . So we tryed pea today i'll give it chance to eat it and then tomorow if it is still bad i'll have to go to the shops. BTW when I add these Epsom Salts will it effect my other fish in that tank in a bad way as my puffers are breeders so i dont want to seperate them incase the bond / relationship is broken.

Will these tonic salts be fine?

if the ingredients are magnesium sulfate then yes.

it shouldnt have any negative effect on your other fish, but if you have a QT tank, I would put the sick fish in that in case its something more serious.
