is there a way to test/clean cc to make sure there is no copper in it ??
my mangrove seeds are sprouting in my 55 and was wanting to put them into a rubbermade container with cc but all the cc i have has been treated with copper !! im guessing not but worth a ask !! might be better using more sand but was thinking the cc would be better for the mangroves ??!

I think it's very difficult to get copper of of cc. I treated my display tank with copper once because my LFS said just add a handful of carbon to your filter and that will remove it, HAHA. I might try taking a handful of cc and put it in a cup with a little bit fo water and letting it sit for a while then testing that water for copper.

yea ive never had to deal with this issue but now wanting to use it in a reef i was worried a bit !! i thought that even if it test out ok that some can still leach out ! thats my worry if putting some in a 5 gallon bucket and running water tru it for a few hours would work not to sure
