could someone please explain cyano?

i guess i have a case of being lazy today but i figured someone here could explain this cyano bacteria to me. What is it how do i notice it how common is it.

Very common. It is a blue green bacteria that looks like soft hair-like algae. Can cover a tank in almost no time with proper light conditions and food.
very yucky stuff.
