What type of lighting are you using?

440 watts of vho lighting from hellolights. I think the bulbs are called aquasun.

Remains to be seen as to how much/quickly the algae grows back, but I'm super happy with the way it looks right now. Busted my butt on it for like 6 hours yesterday!

Really is a superb tank, did you just buy the plantation from your LFS, or grow some yourself etc ?

A few plants came from my pond, only 2 from LFS, the rest mail order, 3 different places. O yeah, collected 1 kind from a lake in my state this fall. they let the lake drop about 10 feet to account for snow melt in the spring, so in the fall you can just walk around and pick up plants outta the mud! I only took a few samples of plants there were thousands of.

Have given many cuttings away already to some folks from work and other friends.

Looks great! I'd like to start having real plants sometime, I just don't think I'm ready quite yet. Nice tank though!

Sounds good. I'm pretty much the same stage as ThaiBoxer really, except it's more of a case of starting off with a new tank, then adding the peat & bits.
It could well be that when I get my next tank, it'll be marine and I'll re-setup my 45 gallon as a planted tank.

Only time will tell !!
