I have a Dragon Moray, and im curious about his eating habbits. He doesnt eat all the time when i try to feed him. I have to practically starve him for 2 weeks to get him to eat. I have been trying to feed him less in one sitting, so he will eat more often. I was at the FS where i bought him and the have another one about twice his size that they feed every 3 days or so. I have been trying to give him frozen squid, shrimp, scalops, and clams. He will eat sometimes, and other times, he will hit the 1st piece of food like he is killing it, and then not swollow it. Then he will just ignore any other pieces i try to give him. So i find myself scooping it out of the tank and throwing it away. Should i not take the shells off the shrimp, and let him eat the shell and all? Do you think that he will like the shrimp more? Should i just feed him every other week like i have been? I really dont want to have to start feeding him live food.

Well, I can't be much help to you, I feed my 30" Snowflake about once per month, I feed live SW shrimp, I put about 50-60 in the tank and when I notice there are no more left....I get some more, usually it averages to about once per month, depending on the size of the shrimp.

I feed my snowflake all he will eat every other day. We were feeding daily, but decided to cut back. He eats peeled shrimp, lancefish, squid and silversides.
Every now and then he will skip a feeding. Have you tried the garlic trick on your shrimp?

Actually I find that turns them off of the food. It works better if you put a few drops in the water just prior to feeding as it will stimulate their senses and come looking for food.

I basically feed the same as Hara but only about once a week unless it starts "swimming". 8O
