filter placement

I am wondering where you all put your filter intake in your tanks. I am speaking of canister filters where there is an intake and output. I have 4 canister filters and never thought too much about where I put the in and out in relation to each other. I now have a 125 gallon and think that placement of these relative to each other would make a difference. How is your tank set up? With my 125 I can set the spraybar to point down the long way instead of across. I am not able to do this in the other tanks unless I cut them down. One of them has no spraybar and just dumps back in.

I'm using 2 cannisters in my 125. Both intakes are near each other towards the center of the tank, and the out flows are on either end. I find I get pretty good circulation given the motion of the plants.
