How often should I feed? I have two percula, a puffer, and a lionfish. I've been feeding pellets everyday but I have heard you should feed twice a day and I've also heard you should only feed every other day. Which is true? Or does it vary from species to species?

I have chopped squid, krill, prawns, and silver-sides. I also have frozen cubes of Emerald Entree (vegatarian) and Marine Cuisine (carnivores), also brine shrimp and mysis. What should I feed when? I've been giving fresh once every three days.

My Lionfish is very picky how often should I expect him to eat? How do I switch him from live to frozen? I've been wiggling the krill and silver-sides but he is starting to regect that. Thank you so much for any advice.

From what I have seen, most people here feed their fish once a day.....i have adopted the same schedule...of course i do give a flake or 2 later in the day if my fish are doing their best to look STAAARVING....hehe

I feed my eel 2 small shrimp every other day. He would probably eat everyday, but he takes his time when its done every day. So i just do it every other day, and he eats till hes full and its alot faster for the both of us.

Feed them once a day, at different times each day so that they aren't just friendly around feeding time. If they don't know when to expect it, they're more likely to be friendly all of the time. Also make sure they've eaten everything within 2 minutes or so. As for what to feed them, make it a variety. If they like it, feed it to them. It's probably still guesswork to a large part what different species eat and need to survive in the wild. A varied diet will make it more likely that they get all of the nutrients that they need. Skipping a day of feeding once in a while won't hurt, either. It'll help your bacterial filtration catch up if it needs to.
