I'm wondering if anyone can help me with this question. I bought myself a Foxface Lo,very cool fish(a little skittish), and am having problems determining if it can be housed with a Tang. In my research I've found that they are fairly peaceful but are aggressive toward other Foxface or rabbit fish. A yellow tang has a fairly similar body shape to the Foxface and wonder if the tang may be mistaken for another fox face. It also states that they are not reef friendly as they will nip at some soft and hard polyps does anyone know if they leave anemones alone?

Thanks
Ian

I have seen them together before and not noticed a problem.

FYI, (in case you weren't aware) foxfaces are rabbitfish and they can deliver a toxin from their dorsal spines, just like lionfish. Be careful, I seem to remember (could be wrong) that their venom is more nasty than the lionfishes. If you do get stung, emmerse the effected area in as hot a water as you can stand for as long as you can take it, repeat. Take some benadryl and make sure someone is with you to monitor your breathing and possibility of anaphylxis, if you are alone, go to the hospital.

I had a Foxface and a Yellow Tang together in a 180g. They totally ignored each other. Unfortunately, the Foxface found his way into a pump intake and was found wadded up in the impeller chamber...never have determined how he got in there. I don't think you'll have any trouble with them though as long as the tank is large enough. Be sure to offer the Foxface plenty of veggies.

I knew they were poisonous but I did not know that they packed that much of a punch. I tend to stay from him when I'm cleaning the tank and so far he has done the same toward me. I have noticed that the Foxface has quite an appetite. He seems to always be on the prowl for food. When you say a large tank would you consider 90 gal large?
