This is the first time i have ever dealed with pregnant guppys How many fry do they usually have? so far i have caught 4 should i expect more? I have the female in a guppy breeder tank. with 3 on the bottom and one loose in the tank. also how long does it take for the guppys to have to fry one they are breed? any info would be great thanks

jeff, how long has it been since the mother last pushed any out? I don't beleive they have them in cycles, they all should come at once. Possibly, she only had 4, or she ate some of them before you saw the others. Not all guppies eat their fry, but you may want to take the mother out of the net just to be safe.

Once guppies are gravid, it can take anywhere from 20-40 days, but usally between 20-28 days, to deliver depending on temp, stress, and other things.

I believe it depends on the female's age and the quality of food and water. From what I understand, it can vary between 10 to 30. I don't have first hand experience with these fish, but if they are like other fish, the more experienced the mother and the better the conditions, the more fry she will have.

yeah, I have never been a fan of guppies, but from what I understand, it depends on many factors. I thought more than 30, somewhere from 1-40 was possible, but it all depends I guess.

It really depends upon the water quality, if the females are comfortable and not stressed. I have about 12 new baby guppy fry. I have a guppy species tank and just let the males and females cruz around the tank with the babies, I dont use those breeder traps, find it just stresses her more than anything. With lots of hiding places where she can feel safe, she will go hide and drop the babies. The babies then just hide and grow until they are large enogh to not get eaten then cruz the tank with the adults.
