I have quite a few of these guys in my tank.. It seems as though they dont really do much but eat off the rocks.. I have included pictures..

Are they Reef Safe and If not how can I get them all out of the tank

TIA,
James

My guess is stone crabs. Are they a brownish color? I can't really tell from the pic...got really lousy eyes  . It kinda looks like a mithrax in the pic, but I really doubt that's what they are...you usually have to buy those. If they are brown, and are stone crabs, then they are not reef safe. I doubt they will cause a lot of damage while small, but I'd try really hard to get the larger ones out.

they are a Brownish Red and their legs are pretty hairy.. Any suggestions as to how to get them out??? I believe you are right about the stone crabs..

Thx,
James

Btw i am getting a CPR wet/dry filter friday can I banish these guys to the sump area of the wet/dry filter? I am not familiar with the wet/dry as I have not gotten it yet but its a CR900... I was thinking that adding them to the sump area might be alright along with some argonite sand.. I would really want to just get rid of all of them with no home or anything.. BTW I found out that those things get extremely big..

TIA,
James
