How long to leave Xenia pegged to rock with toothpick?

I just pegged a Xenia to a peice of LR with a toothpick, anyone know how long it will take to put a foothold?

Shouldn't take more than a week or two. Just look at the base of the Xenia, and when it has grown on enough to not float away, remove the toothpick.

Thanks for the prompt response, I put it in a spot with a small hole in it so as to get the best hold possible. TY for your input!

If you wait too long, the xenia will attach to the toothpick....I have some xenia growing on rocks with wooden spears in them from when I first started fragging. I have since switched over to plastic toothpicks, they seem to not be able to attach to them as quickly allowing easy removal.

I use rubber bands for xenia, 3-4 days is all it takes
