Hi everyone,
I got two new bettas yesterday! They are gorgeous! They have big hefty bodies (compared to my previous two) and have very full fins. They are in the critter keepers for now, with some BettaMax as a precaution. I will set up the tanks on Friday. Previously, I had one 5.5 gallon tank that I divided for two bettas. Now, I want to get another 5.5 gallon tank so each one can have their own tank. I guess I now have MTS!!

I think I can use my pump (Tetratec 12 Deep Water) to run the sponge filters in both tanks. How do I set that up? I think I'll use a T connector instead of a gang valve. Does that sound OK? Do I need a check valve for both airlines? I probably do.

One's name is Benny and I haven't named the other one yet. I'm bad with names!

I got them here: www.alloddballaquatics.com This is an excellent place. Check it out if you're in the Pittsburgh area! It was nice because I got to see lots of fish that I read about here. I saw discus and cichlids for the first time! Eric, the owner, has tons of angelfish tanks. I thought of you, Allivymar! One tank was angelfish fry. Some were so tiny, and on some you could see the beginnings of those long fin tips.

I will post pictures as soon as I can!

You should be fine with aT vavle. You will now pretty quickly if the pump can handle it. If it can't you won't get any bubbles, that simple.

T-valve and check valves should do the trick (don't skip the check valves!). Congratulations, and I think they will be very happy in their own 5-gal digs. :D
