I think I know what this is but need to be sure.

I was moving the LR from my 45 gal tank over to my 80 gal tank and I found some nice items that I did not even know was in the tank. This stuff was growing out of site and maybe even out of light.

Yep. Sponges. The last one I believe is a colonial tunicate. Watch it closely, they have been known to move. ;)

They was found on the shady side of the LR before I put them in the 80. should i try to shade them still? right now they are somewhat exposed to the light.
 
These are being used in Steve Tyrees new filtartion system. Never seen one move though. how is it doing now FF?
