ick problems

I have a cycled 29 gallon tank
78 degrees
ammonia 0 ppm
nitrite 0 ppm
ph 7.4

I bought 3 patty first round before tank was cycled they all got ich 2 days after i brought them home. i used quick cure for 14 days and it cured it but 1 died.

After my tank cycled and about 1 month after first outbreak i added 2 male guppys and 2 female. they got ick right away also(this was this week).

and one of the orgianl pattys has like white scales 3 or more of its scales have turned complelty white looks like it was bit or something.

What am i doing wrong? this is my first tank.

Running a
under gravel filter and a regent 50 gallon filter

whisper 010-30 heater

one live plant not sure the type.


Can anyone give my any clue why my fish keep getting sick?

and is 3 patty and 4 guppys 2 many fish in a 29 gallon tank?

Any help would be great

hmm...a basic question to start off with. Did you acclimate the fish when you put them in the tank? A big temp change can cause ich to start. Also, did you check out the tank at your lfs? Could just be that one fish in the same tank had it, and symptoms finally showed up when you brought the little guys home.

the tank ran for over a week before i brought the fish in the tank. the water was up to temp when i first added them.

it wasnt really a lfs it was like a petsmart. i never went back i guess i should of . i was just surrprised to see ick for the 2 second time plus i dont think the orginal fish act the same way as when i first got them. the patties sit near the bottom sometimes and dont move much. all the fish where very active before ich showed up second time and now they all just move slowly and hardly move.
