I'm thinking about getting coolie loaches

is there anything important i should know in particular?
Do they need sand to burrow in or just some place to hide?

Nope. Nothing really important, they are really cool little guys, I had 6 kuhlis in my old tank and loved them. I cant find any now or would have some in my planted tank. I would suggest feeding an algae wafer at night once a week though.

Have a cave or something for them to hide in. Also get lots of them because if you only get one or two they will never come out of the cave.
