I have a Krib female ... currently tending fry still in their cave I'm sure ... who has one white dot on her side. No other fish have anything on them. She appears to be acting normally. Tank water quality is good. Should I wait a bit before dousing with Ich med.

Can you post a photo? Or better still record a short video, upload it to somewhere like YouTube and post a link.

There infections that are easily confused with ich, but arent. And they have different treatments.

For instance if it's ich, you need to raise the water temperature to shorten the lifecycle of the parasite. If it's epistylis you need to lower the temperature and slow down the spread of infection.

I wouldn't treat the main tank with an Ich med if you are planning on raising the fry. You usually don't see ich start at a spot that like. It typically starts on the gills and the fins which means that this may not be Ich.
Do you notice her twitching or scratching against anything to try and scrape that spot off?

Thanks for your reply. I would have been reticent to treat for Ich with meds. I had a sense that it wasn't but I wanted to hear from other aquarium owners. This morning, it's barely visible so she have sustained an injury going in and out of her cave. Again, thanks for your input.
