Kuhli loach

Hi i bought 4 kuhli loach 2 weeks ago and I've only seen 2 come out at night to eat.
It's a 30 gallon tank with gobies, shrimp and snails. So nobody harassing them.
Should've I bought a bigger group?

Kuhlis are hiders. Sometimes you see them, sometimes you don't. Having a larger school will not guarantee you will see them more often but will increase your odds of seeing one or more as they are out and about in the tank. If you place their potential homes in front of the tank, you may see them inside there when they think they are hiding. I like to use PVC pipe for this and just adjust the position of the openings so that you can see them from afar.
