What is your go to food for this guy? I thought I had this figured out but the more I read about plecos the more it seems they don't all need the same diet. Mine is growing fast but I want it to get what is best.

Being that this Pleco is an omnivore, there is no one "go to" food. It needs a variety of foods including meat as well as vegetation. You should be feeding him a combination of foods including worms, shrimp/prawns, algae wafers/disks, romaine lettuce and spinach and you can add to that things like blanched squash, cucumbers, sweet potatoes and the like. Thankfully(?) this is not one of the species that requires wood in their diets.
