Into my third week of a fishless cycle with a few plants, should I go with lights on our lights off. I have been going about 50/50. TIA

The lights won't matter at all for your cycle. The plants will benefit from lights being on. Typically 6 to 8 hours per day is good for those commonly kept low demand plants. High demand plants might need longer lighting periods with specialist high powered lighting. But unless you are wanting to grow algae 8 is a good upper limit.

Some plants like anubias and java fern will do fine with just ambient room lighting.
