Hey everyone I currently have a 29 gallon tank on a fluval207 and a tidal 55. Planted various types of Java and Anubis’s. No co2 My light is a 16 nicrew. upgrading to a 40 gallon would like to stay with nicrew. But not sure what the difference between their models are.IMG_0292.jpegIMG_0291.jpeg

I can't tell if your light is the ClassicLED or the SlimLED.

The ClassicLEDs come in sizes for aquarium lengths between 12" and 36". The SlimLED comes in sizes for lengths between 12" and 60".

Assuming your 29 gallon is standard size, it should be 30" and a 40 gallon breeder is 36".

The ClassicLED that goes with a 29 gallon is 30 to 36" so should also go with your 40 gallon breeder.

The SlimLEDs that goes with a 29 gallon would be either their 24 to 30", so if thats the one you have you need the next bigger size. Or the 30 to 36", so if thats the one you have it should also fit your 40 gallon breeder.

Not sure I measured the light it’s only 16 inches. It’s a lit small fr 29 but seams to work well. And yes 40 tank is 36 inches. Is there any difference between the classicled and the slimleds.

I think the ClassicLED has more LEDs, so the light output is higher, but it uses more power than the SlimLED. Similar price for the same length of light.

Your plants are low light demand, so they don't need the high output. Ive kept your plants with no aquarium light at all. Both lights can both be programmed, so if you are OK with the higher energy use I would go for the ClassicLED and run it at a lower % output if it was too bright.
