Well, I've decided that the large rocks look bored, so I have decided they need some moss growing on them. The two most common ones I have seen are Java and Christmas moss, but I am interested in hearing personal experiences growing moss and what types have worked/not work and looked good.

Only have java moss in my tank. It does look good now, but when i was battling string algae, it was a mess, got all tangled up with the algae. I think it would look good on rocks, but mine is on driftwood. Mine grows very slowly, but is also heavily shaded by a giant sword plant.

Hey there I'm not sure if this is java Moss or not its one of many webshots desktop pics I have.
I think that Mossy rock looks sweet.

Cheers,
Chris.

I'm not too concerned with the algae as my SAEs take care of that. How did you attach your moss?

I tied it on to driftwood with black cotton thread, the thread rots in time, after the moss is attached. on anothe piece of driftwood, it stuffed it in a big crack with a screwdriver till it was jammed in there, that worked too.

tyler, how did you use a staple gun? Outside of the water I suppose? Just put a bunch of staples in there?
