i was wondering how to get your params down my ammonia is 0.25 my dbh is 7 my ph is 7.4 0 nitrites and 7.9 high ph

Water changes will reduce your ammonia levels, although .25 ppm isn't dangerous yet. Don't let it go over .5 ppm tho. How long have the fish been in the tank/how many are in there atm? You won't see nitrites for a while yet, but keep checking just in case.

I don't know what the rest of your readings mean. dbh? Do you mean kH? gH? And how is your pH 7.4 AND 7.9?

He probably is using Aquarium Pharm.s Freshwater test kit, which includes a pH test, and a test for high range pH, he probably used both tests.

Still plan on breeding in a month?

Anyhow, if you'd have read the instructions that came with the kit, you'd know how to read your pH. You use the "regular" pH test kit first. If your pH isn't at the high end of the range, then don't worry about the high range test. However, if your "regular" test shows up at the high end of the chart, then you need to use the high range test. The "regular" test can only measure so much alkalinity before it stops working, hence the high range test kit.

Also, are you sure your tank has cycled? If you're still getting ammonia readings, I'm a bit skeptical. When did you start the cycle, and what have you done to get it going?
