My tank is still cycling (low levels of ammonia and nitrite and nitrate), and I notice my female zebra is pregnant. The male I bought her with died a day or so ago. I have no idea what to do when she gives birth and I would like to maybe keep a few of the babies (if they would be able to survive in a cycling tank). I also have 2 serpae tetras in the tank.

Zebra Danios, Brachydanio rerio, are egglayers so, while your female may be holding a bunch of eggs, you won't have any little ones without a male available to fertilize the eggs when the female releases them.

^yep she just has eggs but nothing will happen without the male.. mine tend to look like they are going to bust... those darn fish breed ALL the time i swear.. i have danio fry in a 5 gal tank :D
