I was reading a post where Andy was writing about Dr Bassleer fish food. So I looked up the site they have a lot of different foods like looking at the cereal asile at food lion. What do think would be best for Oscar myer 2nd. Just want to mix things up a little. As for Pleco Pete he loves the scraps of fluval bug bites that go through Oscars gills but will not touch the same food in wafer form? So I'm looking for something new for him also They both get blanched veggies once a week. I read to blanch them to kill off bacteria is this true or is raw OK?

I would add Bassleer's regular food and Better Tabs to the food rotation. Remember, feeding multiple foods in succession is better than feeding one food for say, a week then switching to another food. Multiple foods per day avoids a lot of problems. You'll see on the website, Regular comes in a number of pellet sizes and I would use smaller sized pellets ( based on your Oscar's size) and under feed the amount to help prevent any digestion issues. You know that if an Oscar can fit say 10 pellets in their mouth, they will eat 20. :^s This is not good. Just because they can does not mean that they should. ;)
As for the Pleco, the Better tabs may change that or use the Bio-fish Green.
As for blanching the fresh veggies, it will all depend on whether they are organic or altered ( i.e. waxed, sealed, etc). If I do organic foods, I just wash them. If I do the waxed or sealed ones, I blanch just to get rid of the sealant.
