Is it possible during the cycling process for the Nitrite never to spike?

Using Live rock, Live Sand, Reverse Osmosis water in a 29 gallon, we just added another 10lbs last night and the Nitrate has fallen from .10 to .5
Ammonia is at 0, Nitrate has never changed always at 0. Also finally got a skimmer, got a Bak-pak 2R have to get used to that now.

Look forward to the help thanks!

Yes, with a good bioload it wont spike. I have never had a tank nitrite spike due to large amounts of live rock and protien skimmer.

Cool!

That's great! We are really hoping that the Nitrate will be down to 0 by this weekend so we can get some critters to clean up the hair algae, never thought I'd look forward to having snails!

Thanks!
