My poor baby! this is what happened to my favorit (shhh don't tell the others! ) male yesterday. I don't know what caused it, it just kinda came outa nowere. He was fine when i checked that morning but when I got home that night he was like this! Anyone know how to treat this? I have never had a fish this badly bloated before. Its like there is an air bubble in him or something. Hes not over fed, and he is still pooping (u can see in the pick), so I don't know what caused it.....
(Its a bad pick, he really doesn't like to sit still for the camera)

Ack. Thats one bloated fishy! Not good....

I'm HOPING its constipated. Did you see if it will eat an unshelled pea? That might get things moving if it is.

Did you do a water change? You might want to, just in case.

Theres more on dropsy here: http://www.fishpalace.org/Disease.html

I have my fingers crossed for your lil guy!

Came across a similar situation in a diff forum; the peeps there suggested using Maracyn-Two (minocin). Apparently they are having some success with it; that betta's swelling has gone down greatly, and has started to eat again.

Just FYI

Thanks!
I have been using Maracyn2, but so far nothing. hes still acting like himself..... I guess time will tell..
