Online instructions for a Eihem Ecco filter?

I'm tank-sitting for a friend (as is probably well-explained in my other posts) and I don't have any instructions for hooking up and starting the filter/pump. It's an Eihem Ecco and the tank is either 25 or 30 gallons. I've been searching the internet for instructions (such as, which hose connects to the IN and which to the OUT), is the "Start" position of the handle up or down? There is a little knob/handle on both the IN and OUT valves - which position should the knob be in when I plug in the filter?
