I'm a newbie to the world of aquariums. Picked up a used SeaClear 35 gallon bowfront in very good condition. I'm concerned about scratching the acrylic when trying to remove any algae that may build up.
What do you use, and how do you like it?
Thank you.

There are 2 types of aquarium cleaning pads. The ones that are made for glass are abrasive and can scratch acrylic. If you get one thats specifically for acrylic it won't scratch.

Could you recommend a particular brand?

API make an algae scraper for acrylic aquariums. Its just a bit of sponge on a stick though, anything thats specifically made for acrylic.

Narrow mag float for acrylic, plastic razor blade , for a specific brand I would see what your LFS carries. All the magor brands probably make a version , penn plex , hugger, aqueon , api are a few that come to mind

Just use a smooth sponge attached to an expandable handle.

I picked one up at Petsmart. It came with interchangeable smooth sponge & course sponges.
