Anyone currently keeping one of these?

I have been contemplating adding another fish to my 75Gal FOWL setup. I am debating between a tang ar an Angel(probably a coral Beauty) not both. When I went in my LFS they had these and coral beauties on sale. I know the 2 Orange shoulder Tangs they have have been there for some time and seem very healthy, the coral beauties arrived about a week ago. I know my tank is well stocked now because of potential growth, but I think have room for one more fish at least until the current occupants fully mature.

Anyway my LFS thought I would be OK with the tang even though they can get large (stated up to 8-10") and I placed one on hold so I can get my QT going again.

I did some research online and everything should be compatible except for the size. Some sites stated they can get as large as 14" and recommend a larger tank. Does anyone know if they get this large in captivity? Currently about 5-6" and mostly yellow which would indicate it is a juvenal. Am I destined for failure if I try this?

Tank is currently stocked as follows:
2 Maroon Clowns (Pair)
Domino Damsel
Firefish
5 Blue/Green Chromis
Brittle Star
Perpermint shrimp
4 Condy Anenome
3 Feather dusters
Crushed coral Substrate
Some live rock (20+#s)
lots of base rock and coral skeletons

Tank has been up about 6 months and all conditions are normal and have been stable.

thanks in Advance for your opinions,

My opinion..your tank is relatively young. Usually you dont consider a tank even close to mature until the 6-8 month range, and your just now getting there. The tangs are great, but I would suggest that you go w/ the coral beauty.

This is basically your bio load:
2 Maroon Clowns (Pair)
Domino Damsel
Firefish
5 Blue/Green Chromis

In a 72, I think you would have an excellent stock (except for the damsel).

Sorry, but the more I read about tangs, the more I agree w/ the tang police.

Squishy :fadein:
