"Ideal" has become subjective. Wild Bettas do better is acidic water. Domestic Bettas are grown on farms and in basements throughout the states so you can get Bettas born and raised in rock hard S. Florida water ( I did them in that) as well as super soft acidic waters in other states ( I did that too in NJ.) So the ideal water pH for YOUR Betta is what the place you got the fish from has.Is this ideal for a betta fish? This is the tank water.
