When going down the toy aisle of Wal-mart (as much as i dislike that store) I found a finding nemo plastic play scene- I guess thats the best way to describe it. It basically includes the same things that were in the aquarium in finding nemo (The hut, the tekhi mask and something else). Out of everything I see to put in fish tanks- I like this better. The problem is- it's plastic and not made for aquariums-- but its so cool!

I figured I should not put it in my tank because it might have harmful paint or whatever, am I right? Or is it okay to put it in my tank?

I would say you were right. Not only might it have harmful paint on it, but it might have metal in there that you can't see. I have often wanted to make a star wars themed tank, but I dont think there is anything safe to put in there. Maybe someone else has a different opinion, or some other suggestion to make the toys aquarium safe.

I bet fish would make great TIE Fighter pilots, you know, being adapted for 3-D spacial movement and all.

All plastics are not created equal and unless something says "Aquarium Safe" I wouldn't want to put it in my tank. Lots of nasty stuff can leach out of plastic. You are safe with polyethylene and polypropylene and acrylic but then only if it isn't a surface colouring like paint.
