Where can I put the Pleco while changing out decorations in the aquarium? He currently is in a castle and I'm switching out the castle for a ship.

Place the castle in a bucket or other tank so that it's only half in the water ( the half the fish is in) then wait until it decides to get out. You can try to entice it with some food but don't forget to change water in the container every day. (y)

I don't understand. Why do you need to move the pleco just to change a decoration? I move all my stuff every week when i do my water change/gravel vac.. The pleco just moves to one end or the other til I'm done. He does not seem to care. Some times I have to make him move out of the way.

That's what he did today. He just moved out of the castle and went to the other side of the aquarium until I was done.

I work with my pleco and Oscar every time I work on the tank they both are starting to let me touch them without freaking out. The Oscar is more like a dog when it comes to me handling him. The Pleco not so much.

Not every pleco is so understanding. LOL My friend in NJ had one he wanted me to see when I visited him and he couldn't find the damn thing in his 120 gal tank. It was big too. Turned out he was inside one of those hollow mountain decorations and the only way it could come out was head first. Needless to say the fish was not facing down when we found him.  😆 He came out after I had left so my friend pulled the decorations so I could see him the next day. Needless to say, the fish was pissed. 😆

I do have one odd pleco he is out most of the day. My chair sits right in front of the tank so I just look to right and there is the tank. He will go in his cave if someone comes in and makes a loud sound. I have never seen one stay out so much plus he is the boss and lets the Oscar know it.
