I have a pregnant Platty and i think she laid her eggs all ready. She stays in the corner of the tank and she doesn't even come up for food, plus she's not as big as she was before. I wanted to know how long is it going to before I they hatch and is there anything I need to do? :)

I'm not sure about egg-laying fish, but I just finely crush my regular fish food for my baby mollies, the adults eat the stuff too, so I don't need to worry about feeding them seperatly. As well this way I can mix flakes with crushed Algea tablets and freeze-dryed bloodworms and shrimp in proportions and not have to feed those seperately as well.

My tank get chaotic when I drop in an algea tab, the babies all go after it and it's like a mass of silvery tails :D
Since platy need plant stuffs in thier diet too, they might be able to eat algea tablets that haven't been broken up or veggies, swarming them like mine do, you might be able to use that to catch them so you can isolate them if you are going to.

Daphnia are supposed to be great for babies.

Platies are live bearers--their young are free swimming when born and they do not lay eggs. How long has your fish been acting this way?
