I’m newly into the having aquarium fish game and have a very pregnant balloon Molly.
I think she might be ready to pop and just want to get some opinions on how I can look after her, make sure she’s not stressed and save some fry from becoming the adult fishes next meal.
Due to a unknown at the time sick fish being added to the tank a month or so ago we have got a bit of an imbalance in numbers (have done all the things to save the remaining fish and they are now thriving). We have three male guppies, two mollys (one being the pregnant one) the other being male, and a mystery snail. The hope is if we can save some of the fry we will look to keep two females to better balance the molly population.
I have purchased a breeding box, usb air pump and mini heater for the box but am not sure how to exactly use it or if my girl would be happier giving birth in the tank and us relocating the fry to the breeding box and then to their own tank.
Have taken a video of her (and the others in the tank) but can’t seem to attach it only photos. There’s lots of fake foliage and a rock structure.
What are people’s thoughts?
