Just cure it longer and more water changes during the cure. Not that bad actually, just longer cure

Don't worry about this rock. Just soak it for a few days first. Live rock would really put out the phosphates, this won't be nearly as extreme.

Can someone come over and rinse this for me? Lol. I need two people to hold it and spin it while I shoot it with the hose! Lol. I highly doubt it'll fit in my tank that I'm picking up Saturday.

Haha I was kidding. I think I'm gonna see what the second shipment of rock looks like and just cure what I will need. Do you guys think I can cure it IN my DT with no lights since I will have nothing in the tank? And just do a long cure/cycle? The tank is going to be for a mantis shrimp. Maybe some zoas/palys. Possibly some dragons breath algae as well.

That's what I did...I cured it for a month or so with a raw cocktail shrimp in a stocking. Once ammonia and nitrite were zero for several weeks (dosing ammonia as needed), I emptied it and added freshly mixed water. What are you going to do with that big chunk?

+1 I agree. Don't sweat it, it will work fine with the shrimp method. This is the same rock only 3 months in.

Cool thanks everyone! That's what I'll do. I'm gonna see if that big rock fits in my tank and possibly use it if it fits. But my tank is 20x20x20 and it's an AIO. So I'm losing a few inches. I highly doubt it'll fit. Maybe save it for my future 220 gal!!!! Lol. One tank at a time. I don't even have the mantis tank yet. Hopefully picking it up Saturday.

Go to the BRS TV YouTube channel and check out the aquascaping series they did, one episode was specifically about the Pukani rock and he uses a hacksaw and a hammer and chisel and makes some really cool scapes out of larger pieces of rock, the stuff looks really easy to use.
