When i went to bed last night my pulsing zenias where looking great. In have had them for about two months. My water perameters are perfect. Anyways, When i woke this morning they are gone. Completely gone. I found the rock they were on next to where the serpent star i have was. Will they eat Coral? If not than how are they going to dissapear in one night? What has happened. My mushrooms and frogspawn still look perfect.

Very doubtful the serpent star would consume the coral. What other fish/mobile inverts are in the tank?

Cheers

hermits and snails. The rock that it was on was under one of the stars legs. It had to have been him. Plus when we were taking the star back to the lfs it expelled alot of stuff in the bag and one piece you could tell was the zenia. I was very upset b/c the zenia had just split three times. It was doing great

I have never seen them damage hard corals but on many a time have seen them eat soft corals that have come loose from their "footing" or have any necrosis. One of the reasons I got rid of mine was every time I fragged soft corals if they got away from me, the green brittle star would gobble them up in a second.

Cheers
Steve
