I put both of my Perc's in quarantine but I wont have an extra filter til Saturday, is this ok?

They have a heater, light, and a fake coral to hide around.

Should I put a small PH in for movement?

They are not sick, i'm just relocating them to another tank. Bought a beautiful black volitan today and dont want them to get eaten.

Thanks,
Rich

They really need a filter. 8O and yes I think they might like a little water movement also. I don't know how big your QT is but it won't take long for the water to go bust in a small tank with no filteration.

Thanks for the fast response...I just put them in there a couple of hours ago. Its a 10gal, I can get a hold of a canister filter tomorrow evening would they be ok til then?

Thanks,
Rich

Unless you have some seeded filter media for that filter, you ammonia will rise quickly. I lost a tang in 12-24 hours in a 10 gal with a filter. The media was not seeded so there were no beneficial bacteria to help with the water.

You better get some water made up ahead of time and stay on top of it.

Good luck

Sorry about your loss.

Exactly. In a 10 gal without a filter you need to have 5 gal ready to change a day. It's very important to make sure it's the right temp, ph, and sg. Changing out that much at one time could lead to shock. You still need a filter but your still looking at many water changes.
