The lfs got some rams in and I'm hooked. But the only tank I have that would be suitable for them is my 25gal, which contains tiger barbs. Do these species mix well ?

That CAE is going to get larger and more aggresive as it ages, might not be a good combo with the rams. Also that shark might not like to give up its territory. Rams will pair off and stake a claim to the territory they choose and will defend it quite passionatley, so I would have to say that it would not be a good idea to add them to this tank. If you have another tank with less territorial fish or an empty tank go for it they are beautiful fish, if you want them to be happy and healthy I would hold off on adding them to the 25 gal.

The shark should be fine, they're almost 99% territorial only to their own kind, from past experience.

Other than being active, I don't think the barbs would bother the rams, unless they're similar enough to appear as rivals and/or have nice fins to nip. :)

i have 2 german rams and i just got some tiger barbs a few days ago. they're still small so they haven't become aggressive with the other fish. but like the other guys said, it's probably the other fish in your tank that they will have a problem with. but i'm not sure as i haven't kept the fish you have!
