Red algae

I have a 265 salt tank with a few mushrooms and about 200 lbs of live rock. The tank has been up and running since May 2012. I now have noticed growth of red algae in my refugium and a few fish have died. Otherwise the tank is doing great. Is the red algae related to phosphate levels and how do I correct this? Thanks a bunch!

Is it like a slime carpet? If so its cyano. It's a bacteria. It eats nitrates and phosphates.
