Repairing a snails shell

So I have a friend with a mystery snail with a broken shell. She doesn't know where the missing piece is I know I read on here about fixing snail shells but I don't remember what was said to use if a piece is missing.... Can someone help?

I have read you can super glue an egg shell over it, just be careful not to get glue on the snails body!
